| Black Ark Radio: New podcast coming today |
|
 The new podcast will be starting up today. Since the shoutcast stream was shut down I have had a ton of requests for this to be up as soon as possible and the time has come. I hope you all had a chance to check out Mick Sleeper's radio scratch podcasts while you were waiting. It seems the perfect time to start this up since he is taking a break after 30 or so great Lee Scratch Perry podcasts.
The shows will appear in a box above this post later today, enjoy.

| Let me know what kind of results you have with the peercast thing. I can hear it fine but I''m on 100Mbit right next to the server so I''d like to know if people encounter problems with it. Make sure you download Peercast and not the peercast winamp plug in (which is for broadcasting)

| Black Ark Radio: The return of Broadband 128kbps stream |

I spent hours and hours messing with Peercast last night. I got it tweaked and tuned and ready to go.
The 128kbps (12Kbytes/sec) stream is up and running as I write this.
In order to listen, all you need to do is download Peercast http://www.peercast.org/download.php then click on the broadband link (I''ll have this up and working tonight) and you should be good to go. Or you can find me in the peercast yellow pages under Reggae.

This is the first day of testing so private message me or post on the forums and let me know if it worked out for you, whether you got dropouts and how it sounds. You''ll need a good solid fast connection for it to work and it will chew up upload bandwidth to relay a stream to the next person in line, essentially you need to be able to upload 128kbps (12Kbytes/sec) for it to get passed along and start growing.

| I''m aware of the broadband stream buffering real bad lately. I know its annoying cause I''m trying to listen too. Trying to resolve the issue but I don''t know what it is yet. Probably a bw cap at the relay, I''ll let you know more when I know more.
Also, I''m considering stopping broadband streaming all together soon, I know thats not good news for all you black ark fans but shit man, this costs me a lot of money and I dont recoup a dime, no matter how much anyone donates (which aint much). So I''ll keep you posted on that and what I decide to do in the future. Feedback is welcomed but don''t hammer me with complaints about the stream buffering or my considering quitting streaming it because the ends just are not justifying the means anymore. If I do shut it down, the site will stay up and still get updated quite often, it will just be very quiet musically, which sucks. Hey at least I didnt sell my site to Chris Blackwell or some shit.

| As I mentioned a while back I have some new updates going into the playlist. Finally encoded the vinyl and got the titling and editing done on it. The volume is a bit low but should be decent enough for a good listening to.
